Creators of MongoDB

permalink

MongoDB is emerging as an alternative and complementary database to traditional technologies like PostgreSQL. 10gen is very excited to be sponsoring an entire track on MongoDB at the Postgres Conference in New York City this month. Getting involved in Pg East will be a great opportunity for the vibrant open source communities around Postgres and MongoDB to learn from one another.

At the conference, there will be 13 session on MongoDB. In addition to four presentations from 10gen engineers, several MongoDB users from the community will be talking about their experiences using MongoDB in production. For example, foursquare will talk about migrating from Postgres to MongoDB. BLiNQ Media will discuss how they are building their Facebook ad serving platform using MongoDB. OpenSky plans to present on using MongoDB for ecommerce. This is just a sampling of the talks on the schedule. Check out the full listing on the Postgres Conference website.

In addition, 10gen Software Engineer Brendan McAdams will be conducting a one-day training on March 22 on building web applications with MongoDB. This session is a bargain at $349 for the day, and will walk you through building a simple MongoDB app.

We hope to see some of you at this event!
